More than 4.5 million soccer enthusiasts worldwide participated in the 10-day 2026 World Cup ticket presale organized by FIFA, which concluded on Friday. The presale, exclusively available to Visa cardholders aged 18 and above, marked the initial opportunity for fans to secure tickets for the upcoming 48-team, 104-match World Cup scheduled to commence next June.
The majority of ticket applications originated from the three host nations, with the United States leading the pack, closely followed by Mexico and Canada. Other countries in the top 10 list included Germany, England, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Spain, and Italy, although specific application numbers per country were not disclosed by FIFA.
Successful applicants selected through a random draw will receive notification emails starting from September 29. They will be allocated specific dates and time slots for ticket purchases, based on availability, with time slots commencing on October 1. FIFA emphasized that being selected in the draw does not guarantee ticket availability during the assigned time slot. Prices for group-stage tickets start at $82, but may vary based on demand.
Further ticket draws are set to begin in October, offering additional opportunities for fans to secure their seats for the highly anticipated World Cup matches. Additionally, fans can already purchase hospitality packages, while Canadian supporters can also vie for tickets to Canadian team matches by joining the CanadaRed supporters’ group, which comprises seven tiers with varying benefits based on membership fees.
Canada Soccer is yet to announce the schedule for its ticket draw, allowing fans to eagerly anticipate their chance to be part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup experience.
