“Queen of Canada” in Custody Again After Sect Compound Raid

Romana Didulo, known as the “Queen of Canada,” was taken into custody for the second time on Thursday following a police raid on her sect’s compound in rural Saskatchewan. The initial arrest of Didulo and 15 followers resulted in their release without charges on the same day, with five individuals being released under specific conditions.

Subsequently, Didulo, aged 50, and Ricky Manz, aged 61, the owner of the former elementary school where the group resided for two years, were rearrested for breaching their release conditions, which included a prohibition on communication with each other. Didulo faces charges for failing to comply with an undertaking and intimidating a participant in the justice system, while Manz is confronted with similar charges.

The RCMP clarified that individuals can be released on undertakings prior to the formalization of charges. At present, details regarding the three other individuals released on undertakings have not been disclosed as their court information is pending.

Since settling in Richmound, a small village near Regina, the group has faced accusations from locals of harassment and attempts to take control of the town. Didulo has propagated various conspiracy theories through social media and previously sent threatening emails to village officials.

Manz has been detained and is scheduled to appear in court, while Didulo is also expected to appear in court on Friday. The RCMP emphasized that individuals can only be held for 24 hours without charges and that release from custody does not preclude potential future charges.

The police raid, conducted after reports of a firearm in the compound, resulted in the confiscation of imitation handguns, ammunition, and numerous electronic devices.

Overall, the situation involving Didulo and her followers in Richmound has sparked controversy and legal actions, underscoring ongoing tensions between the group and local residents.
