In Northumberland County, the Beaver Lake Stream wildfire in New Brunswick continues to rage uncontrollably. As per the latest provincial report on Sunday, 43 firefighters are currently deployed to combat the 456-hectare blaze. Additionally, a smaller fire in the Moncton region has also ignited and is currently uncontained since its detection on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, the 204-hectare Rocky Brook fire in Restigouche County has been labeled as contained, indicating the potential for it to breach its current boundaries. Patrols are in place for eleven other fires across different counties, with the risk of these fires spreading considered low.
Expectations from Environment Canada indicate that central and southern areas of the province will experience light rainfall today, with heavier showers anticipated later tonight, possibly leading to localized heavy rainfall.
