“Israeli Forces Kill 3 in Gaza Amid Ceasefire Tensions”

Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip killed three Palestinians near Rafah, intensifying tensions amid the fragile U.S.-backed ceasefire. The Israeli military stated that the individuals were identified as “terrorists” crossing a restricted line and posing an immediate threat before being targeted. One of the casualties was reported as a woman, while the identities of the other two victims remain unknown.

This incident follows a series of Israeli airstrikes in the region, leading to accusations of ceasefire violations from both Hamas and Israel. Residents noted ongoing demolitions of houses in Rafah, Khan Younis, and Gaza City by Israeli forces.

Since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, the situation has relatively calmed down, allowing Palestinians to return to their homes in Gaza. Hamas released 20 hostages in exchange for Palestinian convicts and detainees held by Israel. However, violence persists, with Palestinian authorities reporting 239 deaths from Israeli strikes post-truce.

Israel confirmed the killing of three soldiers and handed over bodies of Palestinians to Gaza, with challenges in identifying the remains due to alleged signs of abuse. Hamas returned the remains of 20 hostages, with efforts ongoing to identify and return more bodies. Israel and Hamas continue to exchange accusations over the handling of remains and hostages.

The Gaza Health Ministry highlighted difficulties in identifying bodies due to lack of resources, resorting to online photos for recognition by families. The situation remains complex, with ongoing efforts to manage the aftermath of the conflict.
