Manitoba health officials have issued a warning that attendees at Canada’s biggest indoor farm show this year may have been exposed to measles. The event, Ag Days in Brandon, Manitoba, took place from Jan. 20-22, with approximately 35,000 people in attendance. Those who visited the city during the event or in the days before or after are advised to watch for symptoms of the highly contagious disease.
The organizers of Ag Days were informed by Manitoba Health about the potential exposure on Friday morning. The event attracted nearly 600 exhibitors and was held at the Keystone Centre in Brandon. The province advises anyone present at the event between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Jan. 20, 21, or 22 to monitor for measles symptoms until Feb. 11, 12, or 13.
Additionally, individuals who attended an “agriculture in the classroom” event at the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba Dome Building in Brandon during the same dates should also monitor themselves. The province has highlighted three other potential exposure locations beyond the farm show.
In a recent update, Manitoba reported the highest monthly case count of measles since the outbreak began last year. There were 74 confirmed cases in January, bringing the total number of confirmed and probable cases in the province to 393 confirmed and 37 probable cases since February 2025.
