Five Toronto Blue Jays players have been selected as finalists for the prestigious Gold Glove awards this season, an annual recognition presented by Major League Baseball to honor the top defensive performers in each position across both leagues. Ernie Clement has emerged as a contender for two awards, having recently been named among the top three finalists in the American League for both third base and utility positions.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ty France, who joined the Blue Jays from Minnesota during the trade deadline, have been nominated for the AL Gold Glove award at first base. Additionally, second baseman Andres Gimenez and catcher Alejandro Kirk have also secured spots as finalists in their respective positions.
Gimenez has previously secured the AL Gold Glove at second base for the past three seasons while playing for the Cleveland Guardians. Guerrero, on the other hand, clinched the AL first-base award in 2022. The winners of the Gold Glove awards will be revealed on November 2nd.
