“Frost Blank Victoire 4-0 in PWHL Showdown”

Maddie Rooney recorded her first shutout of the season with 21 saves as the Minnesota Frost defeated the Montreal Victoire 4-0 in Laval, Que on Tuesday night. Denisa Krizova netted two goals, including an empty-netter, while Liz Schepers and Kendall Coyne Schofield also found the back of the net for Minnesota.

This victory ended the Frost’s three-game losing streak and snapped Montreal’s six-game winning streak. Coyne Schofield now shares the league’s top scorer position with Toronto’s Hannah Miller, each with 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists).

Montreal was held scoreless for the first time this season in front of 6,696 fans at Place Bell, with Elaine Chuli making 24 saves in her fifth start of the season. With this win, the Frost moved into second place in the PWHL standings with 29 points, trailing Montreal by five points, although the Victoire have two games in hand.

The game saw the Frost’s successful defensive efforts after conceding 15 goals in their previous three games. Montreal struggled to generate offense, managing only three shots in the second period following a strong start. A key moment came when the Frost killed off the Victoire’s power play with 9:51 remaining, leading to Krizova’s goal to make it 3-0.

A notable statistic was the Frost completing their longest road trip in team history, traveling nearly 3,000 miles over 11 days from Minnesota to Toronto, Ottawa, Boston, and finally Montreal. Looking ahead, the Frost will host the Toronto Sceptres, while the Victoire will visit the Ottawa Charge in their upcoming matches.
