Health Canada has issued a safety alert for 104,195 toaster ovens in Canada over concerns of a burn risk. Consumers are advised to discontinue using Oster’s French door toaster countertop ovens immediately, as there is a potential danger of the French doors closing unexpectedly and causing burns to users.
The recall affects specific model numbers including TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDGDS, TSSTTVFDXLPP-033, and TSSTTVFDDAF-033, which can be identified on the back of the oven and the original packaging. While no incidents have been reported in Canada as of September 22, the United States has documented 95 incidents, with over 1.2 million units sold there.
To address this issue, Health Canada advises consumers to reach out to Sunbeam Products Inc. to receive a complimentary repair kit along with installation guidelines. The affected toaster ovens were distributed between January 2015 and July 2025.
