Israeli Leaflets Warn Gaza Residents of Imminent Assault

Palestinian residents in Gaza City received warnings from Israeli leaflets on Tuesday, urging them to evacuate before an imminent assault aimed at eradicating Hamas. The leaflets caused panic and uncertainty among the residents, who have been anticipating an attack since Israel’s plans were revealed to target Hamas strongholds.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu advised Gaza residents to heed the warning and evacuate the area. The Israeli military dropped evacuation notices on the city, where residential buildings have been destroyed in recent bombings.

Despite the evacuation orders, many residents expressed concerns about finding a safe place to escape the bombardment and humanitarian crisis. Some mentioned plans to move south, while others opted to stay despite the risks.

The health authorities in Gaza confirmed that main hospitals like Al Shifa and Al Ahli would not be evacuated. The ongoing conflict has led to multiple displacements of Palestinians, with significant casualties and widespread destruction in Gaza.

The Israeli military has directed residents to relocate to a designated humanitarian zone in the overcrowded Al-Mawasi area along the coast. Israeli forces are mobilizing for a potential ground operation in Gaza City, with Defense Minister Israel Katz warning of a significant offensive if Hamas does not comply.

The escalation of the conflict could hinder ceasefire efforts, with concerns raised about the humanitarian situation in Gaza. International backlash against Israel’s actions has been mounting, with several European countries considering recognizing Palestinian statehood at the upcoming UN General Assembly session.

Critics fear that Israel’s plans for Gaza could exacerbate the already dire humanitarian crisis in the region. Amid global pressure and condemnation, Israel remains steadfast in its mission to defeat Hamas and ensure security in the area.

In a separate incident, a flotilla attempting to break Israel’s naval blockade and provide aid to Gaza reported a drone strike on one of its vessels in Tunisia, with activist Greta Thunberg among those onboard.
