Joe Biden undergoes skin cancer surgery, faces health challenges

Former U.S. president Joe Biden recently underwent surgery to remove skin cancer lesions, as confirmed by his spokesperson, Kelly Scully. The surgery was revealed after a video from Inside Edition showed Biden with a fresh scar on his forehead leaving church in Delaware. The procedure Biden received is known as Mohs surgery, which involves cutting away skin until no cancer evidence remains.

This is not the first time Biden has faced skin cancer. Two years ago, while in office, he had a basal cell carcinoma lesion removed from his chest. Additionally, in May, Biden’s office disclosed that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones.

Reflecting on his health challenges, Biden shared a message on social media stating, “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”

The Biden family has a history of battling cancer. Biden’s son Beau passed away from a brain tumor, while his wife, Jill, has had two cancerous lesions removed.

At 82 years old, Biden is currently the oldest of America’s living presidents. George W. Bush and Bill Clinton are both 79 years old, like current U.S. President Donald Trump. In contrast, Barack Obama, at 64, is the youngest among the living U.S. presidents.
