“Ontario Launches Anti-Tariff Campaign for U.S. Republicans”

Ontario allocates $75 million for a new campaign targeting Republican voters in the U.S. with anti-tariff messaging. The campaign features audio clips of former U.S. president Ronald Reagan from 1987 emphasizing the negative long-term effects of tariffs. Premier Doug Ford, a fan of Reagan, believes that Republicans will easily recognize and resonate with the message against tariffs, highlighting that they ultimately harm Americans.

Scheduled to debut this week on Newsmax and Bloomberg, the ad will also be broadcast on various prominent networks including Fox News, Fox Sports, NBC, CBS, CNBC, ESPN, and ABC, along with their local affiliates. Additionally, it will air on the local stations of Comcast, Spectrum, and Sinclair Group over the next two weeks.

This initiative is not the first of its kind from the Ontario government, as previous anti-tariff ads emphasized the strong historical ties between Canada, Ontario, and the United States.
