After canceling a recent performance in Seattle, singer D4vd has decided to cancel the rest of his ongoing tour. All remaining tour dates in the U.S. have been called off, and several European shows have been marked as canceled on Ticketmaster’s website. Despite an announced release date of Sept. 19 for his expanded album titled “Withered: Marcescence,” as per Dv4d’s Instagram, the album has not yet been made available on streaming platforms.
The tour cancellations follow the discovery of a decomposed body inside a Tesla in Los Angeles, identified as Celeste Rivas, a teenager who had been missing since last year. Reports indicate that the vehicle was registered to D4vd, also known as David Anthony Burke, aged 20. While authorities have not linked D4vd to Rivas’s death, his representatives have not provided any comments, and police have not confirmed the ownership of the vehicle.
Requests for comments from D4vd’s agents and Interscope, the singer’s label, have not been immediately answered. Recent developments have led to the widespread cancellation of D4vd’s tour, with shows in Los Angeles and an appearance at the city’s Grammy Museum being removed from venue websites. The only remaining U.S. tour stops in Los Angeles and San Francisco have been marked as canceled on Ticketmaster.
Although some tickets for the upcoming European leg of the tour are still available, many shows across cities like Oslo, Cologne, Amsterdam, Dublin, and Glasgow have already been canceled. The investigation into Rivas’s death continues, with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirming her discovery in the vehicle and stating that the cause of death is yet to be determined.
The body was found severely decomposed on September 8 at a tow lot in Hollywood, with officials mentioning that she seemed to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period before being found. In connection to the incident, police have searched a residence in L.A., but no confirmation of ownership of the vehicle has been provided. An unnamed representative for D4vd has stated that the singer has been cooperating with authorities since the discovery of the body.
