London’s music festival organizers have axed the three-day event following the exclusion of rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, from the U.K. due to backlash over his prior antisemitic comments.

The festival’s official website revealed Ye’s denial of entry, prompting the cancellation of the event scheduled for July 10 to 12 in Finsbury Park, London, where Ye was set to headline for an audience of approximately 150,000 people.

The decision was made by the Home Office, citing Ye’s potential detrimental impact on public welfare. Ye’s application for entry was through an Electronic Travel Authorization on Monday.

Kanye West’s controversial statements have sparked discussions on antisemitism within the Jewish community amidst a surge in hate crimes.

Ye faced mounting pressure from sponsors and politicians to cancel his performance due to his history of making antisemitic comments and expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler. Previously, Ye had released a song titled Heil Hitler and promoted a swastika-bearing shirt before it was removed from his merchandise website by Shopify.

Additionally, Ye has denied the occurrence of the Holocaust, defended Nazis, and shared offensive imagery. Despite issuing apologies, including a public ad in the Wall Street Journal attributing his behavior to past trauma and mental health challenges, Ye’s controversial remarks have continued.
