Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his fellow crew members from the Artemis II mission were warmly welcomed at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) headquarters following their voyage to the far side of the moon. Hansen expressed gratitude to the audience in Longueuil, Quebec, acknowledging their contributions to the mission’s success.
The 10-day expedition marked a historic milestone as Hansen, mission commander Reid Wiseman, and astronauts Victor Glover and Christina Koch ventured farther from Earth than any previous human explorers. Koch shared that both she and Glover had undergone training in Canada, making the CSA feel like a second home to them.
During a Q&A session with Industry Minister Mélanie Joly and members of the public, the crew, joined by Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jenni Gibbons from NASA’s Mission Control Center, emphasized the international collaboration within the Artemis II team. Wiseman highlighted how the crew’s diverse backgrounds enriched the mission and fostered global unity.
