“Blue Jays Reinstate Bo Bichette for World Series”

The Toronto Blue Jays have included their top hitter, Bo Bichette, in the lineup for the upcoming World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bichette, who has been sidelined since September 6 due to a left knee sprain, was named in the team’s 26-man roster for the best-of-seven series.

In an announcement made just hours before Game 1 at Rogers Centre, the Blue Jays revealed that Bichette would be playing second base and batting in the cleanup position. Joining him in the starting lineup are outfielders Myles Straw and Davis Schneider, with Nathan Lukes, Addison Barger, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa available as bench options.

Bichette showed significant progress in recent days, actively engaging in base running, defensive drills, and batting practice. Additionally, the Blue Jays added infielder Ty France to the roster while removing reliever Yariel Rodriguez and outfielder Joey Loperfido.

During a media session on Thursday, Bichette expressed his readiness to contribute in any capacity required by the team, emphasizing his commitment to helping the Blue Jays succeed. The 23-year-old, a two-time American League hits leader, led the team with 181 hits during the regular season.

The Blue Jays opted for a roster composition of 14 position players and 12 pitchers for the Fall Classic, differing from the 13-13 split utilized in their previous ALCS victory. Bichette, who finished second in the league with a .311 batting average this season, remains focused on fulfilling his role to the best of his ability and aiding the team in securing victory.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers made adjustments to their roster by adding right-handers Edgardo Henriquez and Will Klein, while removing lefty Alex Vesia and righty Ben Casparius. Notably, veteran pitcher Clayton Kershaw, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, is included in the World Series roster after being absent from previous playoff series.

Kershaw, who did not feature in the NL Championship Series, has expressed intentions to retire following the conclusion of the current season.
