Canadian kitchens may soon hear the familiar “schhhhhlorp” sound as frozen juice is making a return to one of Canada’s major retailers. Loblaw has disclosed that its No Name brand will reintroduce frozen concentrated drinks in its stores nationwide. The upcoming assortment will feature White Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Limeade, Grape Punch, Fruit Punch, and Berry Punch, as confirmed by Loblaw spokesperson Rachel Siekanowicz.
The anticipated launch of these new products is slated before the end of June. This move follows Coca-Cola’s discontinuation of its Minute Maid line of frozen juices, leaving the Peterborough, Ont., plant as the sole producer of concentrated juice products in the Canadian market.

Other frozen juice brands in Canada, including Old South, had been discontinued for years after Lassonde exited the market due to declining demand for frozen-from-concentrate juice. Following Lassonde’s departure, Coca-Cola remained the only player until early 2026.
Loblaw Responds to Customer Demand
Loblaw clarified that the upcoming No Name juice will not be sourced from a Canadian supplier. “There is currently no manufacturer producing frozen juice concentrate in Canada,” stated Siekanowicz. The company initiated the search for alternatives upon learning about the unavailability of frozen juice through existing suppliers like Coca-Cola.
Although frozen juice concentrate has a history of over 80 years, its popularity has declined over time, reflecting the overall decrease in juice consumption. Emma Balment, a market strategy director at Ipsos, mentioned that only about seven percent of Canadian juice consumption comes from frozen concentrate.
Loblaw mentioned that pricing for the new products will vary by store, with an expected starting price around $2.25 for 283 milliliters. The company’s retail brands include Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, and Shoppers Drug Mart. Additionally, Metro-owned store brands are also considering launching their own frozen concentrate products after the discontinuation of the previous offerings.
