“Salmonella Recall: Peace by Chocolate & NuttyHero Products”

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded its recall of pistachios due to potential salmonella contamination to include various products from Peace by Chocolate and NuttyHero.

The recent recall, announced on Friday, encompasses Peace by Chocolate bars and assorted chocolates sold nationwide, either individually or as part of a mixed pack. The affected products consist of Dubai Style Chocolate Pistachio and Kunafa Bar, The Peace Maker Specialty Bars, Trans Canada Trail — Peace Seeker, the Classic Box, the Proudly Canadian box, and assorted filled chocolates.

Certain Peace by Chocolate items may have custom labels for different companies like TD, Dexterra, First Onsite Property Restoration, and Tri-County Regional Centre for Education. Additionally, NuttyHero nut and seed butters in flavors like maple cinnamon, coconut crunch, and chocolate bliss have been included in the recall as well.

Over the past few months, numerous pistachios and pistachio-containing items have been recalled across Canada. Individuals who suspect they have any recalled products are advised to dispose of them and seek medical attention if they experience any symptoms.

Salmonella-contaminated food may not exhibit visible signs of spoilage but can still cause illness, with symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Vulnerable groups like young children, pregnant women, seniors, and individuals with compromised immune systems are at higher risk of severe complications.

For a comprehensive list of recalled products, visit the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s recall website and search for “pistachio.”
