“Search for Missing Plane from Canada to Greenland Enters Day 2”

The search for a plane that disappeared while en route from Canada’s East Coast to Greenland has entered its second day. Naviair, a Danish state-owned company responsible for air traffic service, stated that it was alerted around 4 p.m. local time on Saturday about a missing single-engine aircraft. Naviair confirmed on Sunday that the missing plane is registered under an American company and was en route from Happy Valley-Goose Bay, N.L., with one person aboard. Search operations resumed on Sunday by sea as the aerial search was hampered by low-hanging clouds. Search efforts were halted on Saturday night due to poor visibility and adverse weather conditions.

Rescue teams are focusing their efforts on the Sermitsiaq mountain area, located 15 kilometers northeast of Nuuk, the capital city of Greenland. Happy Valley-Goose Bay, situated in central Labrador, is approximately 850 kilometers northwest of St. John’s, with the Labrador Sea separating Labrador from Greenland.
