Legendary martial artist and actor Chuck Norris, best known for his iconic role in “Walker, Texas Ranger,” passed away at the age of 86, his family announced. The family expressed their sorrow over the sudden loss of Norris, stating that he was surrounded by loved ones and at peace.
Before his successful acting career, Norris excelled in competitive martial arts, becoming a six-time undefeated World Professional Middleweight Karate champion. He also established his own martial arts style, chun kuk do, and the United Fighting Arts Federation, awarding over 3,300 black belts worldwide. Acknowledged by Black Belt magazine, Norris held a 10th-degree black belt, the highest honor in the field.
Born as Carlos Ray Norris in 1940, he grew up in modest circumstances and discovered his passion for martial arts during his time in the U.S. air force in Korea. Following his military service, Norris ventured into acting, starring in numerous films like “Missing in Action” and “The Delta Force.” His most renowned role was as the crime-fighting Texas Ranger in the TV series “Walker, Texas Ranger.”
In addition to his acting career, Norris gained widespread fame for the viral “Chuck Norris Facts,” featuring exaggerated statements about his prowess. Embracing the meme, he compiled “The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book” and authored various books on martial arts, politics, and historical fiction.
A devoted Christian and advocate for gun rights, Norris endorsed political candidates and supported charitable causes throughout his life. Survived by five children, Norris left behind a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry and martial arts community.
Just days before his passing, Norris marked his birthday with a sparring video on social media, asserting, “I don’t age. I level up.”
