“Rush Teases Surprise Performance at 2026 Juno Awards”

Legendary rock band Rush has teased a possible surprise at the upcoming 2026 Juno Awards in Hamilton. In a recent newsletter to fans, the band hinted at a special moment with Geddy & Alex and provided a link to purchase tickets for the event on March 29.

Last fall, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced plans for a 2026 tour, which will feature Anika Nilles as the replacement drummer for the late Neil Peart, who passed away from brain cancer in 2020. Nilles, a talented German drummer known for her popular YouTube channel and previous work with Jeff Beck in 2022, impressed Lee during her time with Beck.

While details remain scarce, if Rush performs at the Juno Awards, it will mark the first opportunity for fans to see the current lineup in action before their upcoming world tour, named Fifty Something. The tour is set to begin in Los Angeles in June and will include multiple shows in Toronto, Vancouver, and Edmonton later in the year.

Since forming in Toronto in 1968, Rush has built a remarkable legacy with 19 studio albums, numerous gold and platinum records, and a Juno Award history that includes 10 wins. Their most recent release, “Grace Under Pressure: Super Deluxe,” features a historic 1984 concert at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens, showcasing the band at the peak of their creativity.

With a rich history of Juno wins dating back to 1975, including the inaugural award for best hard rock/metal album in 1991 for “Presto,” Rush continues to captivate audiences with their timeless music. CBC Music has sought further comments from the band regarding their upcoming appearance at the Juno Awards.
