“CF Montreal Fires Assistant Coach Maxime Leconte”

CF Montreal has terminated assistant coach Maxime Leconte after an internal disciplinary review. The Major League Soccer team announced the decision without disclosing the specific cause for Leconte’s dismissal, citing confidentiality reasons. Leconte, a 35-year-old French native, had only been with the club for a short period since joining the coaching staff in May.

The dismissal of Leconte follows two weeks after Marco Donadel was appointed as CF Montreal’s permanent head coach. Donadel had initially taken on the role on an interim basis in March and led the team through a challenging season, culminating in a 6-18-10 record. CF Montreal had the youngest squad and the lowest payroll in Major League Soccer.
