Tragically, three children were among the casualties, including Oksana Kobel’s son, who she hoped would be found safe. The situation prompted Poland, a NATO member bordering western Ukraine, to temporarily close Rzeszow and Lublin airports, deploying Polish and allied aircraft to secure airspace.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the strikes on multi-story residential buildings in Ternopil, expressing concerns about potential victims trapped beneath the ruins. He called for increased international pressure on Russia to end the prolonged conflict in Ukraine, advocating for additional air defense support for Kyiv.
Reports emerged of similar strikes in various cities across Ukraine, with energy infrastructure in seven regions being targeted, leading to nationwide power usage restrictions.
